CEDARE Signed an agreement with Green Royal Gas Company and B16 Urban Energy, a Norwegian Company for the implementation of a “Gasification Unit” in Fayoum. This is implemented within the “Sustainable Investment in Solid and Agricultural Wastes” project, which is implemented by CEDARE Environmental Governance Programme and funded by the EU- Joint Rural Development Program and the Italian Cooperation.
CEDARE participated in the World Entrepreneurs Investment Form (WEIF), that was held during the period 11-13 November 2019 in Manama – Bahrain. The main theme of the forum was “Achieving the SDGs through Promoting Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Investing in the 4th Industrial Revolution in a Digital Economy”.

The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) has signed an MOU with The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to enhance and formalize cooperation and collaboration between the two parties.
The Agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Nadia Makram Ebeid, Executive Director of CEDARE and H.E. Dr. Bandar Hajjar, Chairman of the IsDB Group, on November 21, 2019 at CEDARE premises.

At the session organized during the 2nd Cairo Water Week, on October 22nd, 2019, and in the presence of HE. Eng. Mazen, Palestinian Minister of Water, HE. Sharfat Afilal, Moroccan Former Minister of Water, and other Experts and members of the League of Arab States ‘ Experts’ Network on Transboundary Waters & Water Under Occupation, Dr. Khaled AbuZeid, Director of Water Resources at CEDARE, delivered a presentation on the required data and studies needed for addressing the subject matter by the Network.
During the panel discussion on IWRM competencies at the Cairo Water Week 2019, CEDARE Regional Water Resources Director, Khaled AbuZeid, described the challenges facing the implementation of IWRM and the advanced IWRM educational requirements needed by the future Water Leaders. He indicated what subjects are essential and should be addressed in formulating an IWRM Master’s Program, or Professional Certificate Program.
