The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) has signed an MOU with The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to enhance and formalize cooperation and collaboration between the two parties.
The Agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Nadia Makram Ebeid, Executive Director of CEDARE and H.E. Dr. Bandar Hajjar, Chairman of the IsDB Group, on November 21, 2019 at CEDARE premises.
Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) in cooperation with UN Environment, LAS and UN ESCWA, co-organized the 6th Arab Roundtable on Sustainable consumption and Production. The meeting was held on October 9-10, 2019 at Dusit Thani Lake View – Lake House the Club.
Throughout June 18-19, 2019, the Sustainable Transport in Egypt (STE 2019) international seminar was held in Cairo with the theme of Cleaner Fuels for Cleaner Air. It was co-organized by the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) with the Ministry of Environment of Egypt, UN Environment and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), and in cooperation with the Egyptian General Petroleum Company (EGPC), and the African Refiners & Distributors Association (ARA).
CEDARE participated in “Dubai Sustainable Cities Summit” that was organized by Dubai Land Department on December 17th 2015 in Dubai, UAE, under the patronage of the Vice President , Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum.
Regional Online meeting was held on December 7th 2015. The following countries attended:

A meeting with 50 fleet drivers and their fleet manager and fleet operator was held by CEDARE on December 6th, 2015, as part of a stakeholder consultation process for PHAROS Project. This was held at the premises of Danone Egypt in Cairo. Through the workshop, drivers were consulted on their attitudes towards GPS tracking interventions and about their daily routines, and PHAROS project was explained to them in preparation for upcoming travel diary surveys that would soon be launched. This was followed by a focus group with 10 drivers in order to draft the questionnaires that will be distributed to 100 fleet drivers.
CEDARE participated in the Annual Conference on Sustainable Consumption that was held in Beirut during the period from 16-17 November, 2015. The event was organized by the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED).
AFED report: “Sustainable Consumption in Arab Countries” was presented and discussed during the conference.
The comprehensive report which AFED prepared in cooperation with a group of experts and specialized organizations investigated how changing consumption patterns can help preserve resources and protect the environment, ultimately leading to sustainable development.
