CEDARE participates in the panel discussion on Competencies towards Entrepreneurship and Employability Opportunities CEO – Integrated Water Resources Management, 21 October 2019

During the panel discussion on IWRM competencies at the Cairo Water Week 2019, CEDARE Regional Water Resources Director, Khaled AbuZeid, described the challenges facing the implementation of IWRM and the advanced IWRM educational requirements needed by the future Water Leaders. He indicated what subjects are essential and should be addressed in formulating an IWRM Master’s Program, or Professional Certificate Program.

CEDARE presents the linking of the 2030 Sustainable development Goal 6 (SDG 6) on Water with Egypt’s National Water Resources Plan 2037, 15 October 2019

CEDARE Water Resources Director, and Arab Water Council (AWC) Executive Committee member, Prof. Khaled AbuZeid, lectured on linking the 2030 Sustainable development Goal 6 (SDG 6) on Water with Egypt’s National Water Resources Plan 2037, during the Training of Trainers organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The Training was conducted on October 15th, 2019, for Government Officials from the Egyptian Ministries of Planning, Water Resources & Irrigation, Agriculture, and the Central Agency for Statistics.

CEDARE Presents Water Challenges in Egypt and Possible Opportunities, 8 October 2019

CEDARE Water Resources Director, Prof. Khaled AbuZeid, attended the the 33rd Water Treatment Technologies Conference organized by Abu Qeer Fertilizers Company, in Alexandria during the period of October 8-10, 2019. The Conference was inaugurated by Alexandria Governor, Abdelaziz Konsowa and Chemist Saad Abuelmaaty, Chairman of Abu Qeer Company. Dr. AbuZeid, one of the keynote speakers elaborated on the internal and external “Challenges facing the Water Sector in Egypt and the Possible Opportunities.”

CEDARE Regional Water Director, Khaled AbuZeid, North AMCOW -African Ministers Council on Water Secretariat Officer in Charge, attends Expert & Stakeholders’ Workshop on the AMCOW Pan-African Groundwater Program in Nairobi, Kenya during the period of 1-2 October, 2019. The Workshop presents the AMCOW Strategy 2018-2030 and the Strategic Operational Plan 2020-2024. The meeting also discussed the historical background, vision, and present efforts of the Africa Groundwater Commission that was to be established under the umbrella of AMCOW. Read more…

CEDARE Launching First National Learning Alliance, ReWater Egypt, Cairo, May 20, 2019

CEDARE launched the ReWater MENA project first National Learning Alliance (NLA) Workshop in Egypt on May 20, 2019. The project is funded by the Swedish SIDA and lead by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). CEDARE and ICARDA are leading the implementation of project activities in Egypt. Lisode, the project partner responsible for stakeholder engagement, facilitated brainstorming and discussions during the NLA workshop.
