STE2016 – Sustainable Transport in Egypt: Progress, Prospects and Partnerships,Wednesday, December 14th, 2016, Cairo

On December 14th, 2016, diverse stakeholders in the fields of transportation, urban planning, environment, and intelligent transportation systems, all gathered for a dissemination event held by Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) to disseminate their projects in sustainable transportation. The results of the Global Fuel Economy Initiative study on fuel economy for light duty vehicles for Egypt was presented, along with an interactive discussion about the various policies suggested in Egypt and presented through a policy brief that was handed out to all participants.

Low Sulphur Diesel Roadmap for the League of Arab States December 4th, 2016

On December 4th, 2016, UN Environment Regional Office for West Asia (ROWA) in cooperation with Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) held a networking event for the members of the League of Arab States Joint Committee for Environment and Development in the Arab Region (JCEDAR) in Cairo. The event, held in a friendly dinner setting, also gathered experts in the field who are interested in promotion of cleaner fuels and improved air quality.

A national Iraqi Workshop on Improving fuel quality and a Roadmap for Achieving Euro V targets on Fuels and Vehicle Emission Standard was held in Singapore on 29th-30th of August 2016, co-organized by UNEP-PCFV, UNEP Regional Office for West Asia (UNEP ROWA), Asian Clean Fuels Association (ACFA), and Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE).
