As part of the “Environment and Development Forum (EDF 2022), CEDARE held the technical session on “Green Hydrogen as the Future of Sustainable Energy” on 13 September 2022 at the Intercontinental City Starts Hotel. While countries keep searching for sustainable and clean sources of energy, green hydrogen comes on top of the list of projected solutions, specially for countries having renewable source of electricity as Egypt. The session shed light on Egypt’s opportunities and challenges for producing, transferring, and using green Hydrogen as one of the most important clean and sustainable sources of energy, it had serious talks revealing Egypt’s competence and high potential to be the main hub of green hydrogen for neighboring countries and Europe. It also emphasized the Egyptian government’s action plan which was reflected in serious efforts and agreements with key international players, and in amending Egypt’s Energy Strategy 2035 with the aim of green hydrogen inclusion. Egypt’s Sustainable Cities as National Parallels aligning to Global Action to Climate Change
On September 13th, 2022, the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) Egypt Office organized a technical session on National Parallels: Egypt’s Sustainable Cities Global Ambitions and Aligning Local Action as part of the Environment and Development Forum (EDF2022) held in CityStars InterContinental Hotel in Cairo. Convened in collaboration with UN-HABITAT, the session discussed “national parallels” that localize climate action and policy development in Egypt and in its cities and explored opportunities for development as well as visions for the next decade.
SwitchMed Down the Nile Project to support Sustainable Economy and Green and Blue Entrepreneurship kicks-off
On 9 June, 2022 & in the framework of the “SwitchMed Down the Nile Project to support Sustainable Economy and Green and Blue Entrepreneurship in Egypt”, the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Environment (MOE) organized the first Consultation Session at the MOE premises in Cairo. The Project is part of SwitchMed and comes in-line with Egypt’s current substantial efforts in reinforcing medium, small, and micro enterprises.

61st Annual Congress of Egyptian Society for Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis (ESCT): CEDARE Presents study updates that promise mitigation of respiratory diseases in Egypt through its refineries upgrades and fuel quality roadmap
On October 21st, 2020, the Sustainable Growth Program (SGP) of CEDARE, represented by Dr. Ahmed El-Dorghamy, presented results of the refineries upgrades study for air quality improvement, delivered to the audience of the Egyptian Society for Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis (ESCT) in their 61st annual congress. It was chaired by Prof. Dr. Awawd Tag El-Din, President of Congress and Society, and of Pulmonology in Ain Shams University, and attended by a host of Egypt’s leading pulmonologists exchanging experience to advance efforts in improving public health.
Steering Committee of the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) Project holds the Sixth Meeting
Under the framework of SRI project, the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology (MCIT) in coordination with the Centre of Environment and Development in the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE convened the overall sixth steering committee meeting overall and the first in the second phase of the project. The meeting was scheduled on February 24th and was held at the MCIT premises.
The future of E-mobility and Urban Planning in Egypt, 19-20 November, 2019
In continuation of CEDARE’s activities in the Sustainable Transport in Egypt (STE) experience-exchange track, an international seminar was held on the 19th-20th of November, 2019. The event, The event, titled “The future of E-mobility and Urban Planning in Egypt”, was co-organized by CEDARE and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Egypt (FES) in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Environment.
