Sustainable Investments in Solid and Agricultural Waste in Fayoum and Minya (SISAW)

  The overall objective of the SISAW (2018) project is to enhance Fayoum and Minya rural   population wellbeing achieving sustainable territorial resources governance and socio-    economic development through innovative participatory solid waste management SWM process. This will be accomplished through enhancing rural public and multi-actors contribution to sustainable waste management implementing an appropriate governance scheme based on learning for all pathway.

Also, through contributing to rural Fayoum and Menya livelihoods improvement through Income Generating Activities and entrepreneurship promotion based on innovative WM processes relying on improved infrastructure.

 

GWP-Med Partnership Council (19th Meeting)– Brussels

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) is a global action network open to all organizations involved in water resources management. It provides knowledge and builds capacity to improve water management at all levels by deploying 20 years of knowledge and experience in applying the cross-sectional integrated water resources management approach to sustainable development. Dr. Khaled Abu Zeid has been attending their annual Partnership council meeting for over 2 years now and has been updated on the 21st of December 2016 on the GWP Agenda for Change, the GWP-Med institutional and governance issues, the GWP-Med audited budget 2015 and the GWP-Med Work Programme 2017-2019.

Experts Group Meeting on Climate Change Resilience Capacity Building

Event_4_Expert Group Meeting OpeningCEDARE organized an Expert Group Meeting on 11 May 2015 in Sharm ElSheikh for the preparation of a Capacity Building Programme on “Resilience Development in the Face of Climate Change” in cooperation with the Arab Water Council (AWC), Palestinian Hydrology Group (PHG) and IUCN. The expert Group Meeting was supported by GIZ. The Expert Group Meeting was opened by CEDARE represented by Dr. Amr AbedlMeguid, Regional Programme Manager of the Environmental Governance Programme, PHG represented by Dr. Ayman Rabi, AWC represented by its Executive Director H.E. Dr. Hussein Al-Atfy and Former Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and GIZ represented by Dr. Hammou Lamrani. The opening session was an opportunity to recall the Meeting objective and expected results.
