Final Meeting of Integrated Waste Management in West Africa (IWWA) (13-14 May 2012), Accra – Ghana

GhanaCEDARE participated in the Final Meeting and Conference of IWWA that was held in Accra, Ghana during the period from 13-14 May 2012. The meeting was attended by 22 partner organizations from Africa and Europe, and members of parliament and representatives of relevant Ministries in Ghana, the media, and other stakeholders. The project results were presented and discussed to disseminate findings and ensure its sustainability and the use of its findings in policies plans and programmes.

The project will contribute to the improvement of solid waste management systems in West Africa, by promoting appropriate management policies at national and regional levels and gathering authorities, policy makers and other stakeholders (private sector, NGOs, general public, etc.) in the design of waste management practices, with the support of African and European experts.
