The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT), on the 25^th of August 2011, at the MCIT premises, Cairo – Egypt. The purpose of the meeting was to review the study of the E-waste sector in Egypt, submitted by CEDARE. This study falls within the inception phase of the program and the framework of the National Egyptian Green ICT Strategy, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and The Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs (MSEA).

Questionnaires were distributed to identify stakeholders to assess previous relevant activities, plans, future prospects, and willingness to participate in developing the industry.
