In conclusion of E-Khorda: the SRI incubation programme for e-waste entrepreneurs, a grand event "Startup Nova – Entrepreneurship Explosion" was organized by Innoventures on the 5th of December, 2017 in Cairo. The innovative finalists, who had been endorsed to reach the Startup Reactor’s fourth and final stage, were eligible to present their projects before a high-level panel of experts.

On September 19th, 2017, the Swiss Sustainable Industries (SRI) project, in collaboration with the UNDP/GEF Medical & Electronic Waste Project, organized a Consultation Session on Establishing National Take-Back system for Electrical and Electronic Equipment using Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Financing Mechanism.
On 20th August 2017, the Swiss Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) management unit based at CEDARE and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) organized a training workshop on Environmental Registry. Participants, who are beneficiaries of SRI Accelerator Programme for existing enterprises and beneficiaries of SRI Entrepreneurship Support and Incubation Programme: E-Khorda, acquired technical and operational competence to obtain environmental registry in the one-day training.
On June 6, 2017, CEDARE as the implementing agency of the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) and the UNDP/GEF Medical and Electronic Waste Management Project signed MOU, whereby collaborating efforts in support of a sustainable and sound electronic waste management system in Egypt. Sharing objectives, mandates, and visions, the two projects decided to join forces and integrate efforts to best mobilize resources and optimize impacts boosting the e-waste sector in Egypt. The MOU defines multiple areas of cooperation where each party is committed to in its full capacity.
Entrepreneurs receiving the E-Khorda incubation programme were invited to CEDARE premises on May 31st, 2017, where they met the project management unit of the Sustainable Recycling Industries (SRI) and the technical consultants as well.
