CEDARE participated at the “5th WORLD WATER FORUM” in Turkey

Fifth World Water ForumCEDARE participated at the Fifth Global Forum of water held in Istanbul from 16 to 22 March, which is the largest forum on the problems of water and its future. Scientists and experts from all over the world attended the Forum, in addition to the heads of international organizations and ministers from more than 130 countries and leaders of State and Governments of 25 countries.

Dr. Khaled Abu-Zeid, Director of Water Resources Program at CEDARE, during his intervention, highlighted that the process of assessing the progress made towards achieving the Millennium Goals for water depends mainly on the figures. Herein lies the problem that there is an urgent need for a uniform system of evaluation, not only between nations, but within a single state.
