Being the EU funded partner responsible for implementing the SWITCH project in Alexandria, CEDARE has participated in the international conference titled “Sustainable Water Management in Cities: Stakeholder Engagement for Effective Change and Action” that took place in Zaragoza, Spain from the 13^th to the 17^th of December, 2010. The conference was hosted by the municipality of the city of Zaragoza under the auspices of UN-WATER and SWITCH project. CEDARE was represented by Dr. Khaled AbuZeid , Regional Water Program Manager, and Eng. Mohamed Elrawady, Water Resources Specialist. Both CEDARE’s representatives had a significant contribution in the conference as they promoted the upcoming Alexandria Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) plan as well as the Alexandria Learning Alliance (LA) process to higher international recognition through a series of group sessions and plenary panel discussions. CEDARE’s representatives were accompanied by Mrs. Dalia Abd-Elsalam from Al-Ahram- Hebdo  as the media represent tive in stakeholder participation activities related to IUWM ,she also conducted many important interviews with some of the key figures in the SWITCH project.
